Swing out door bar location.

I am putting a swing out door bar in this car. Before I randomly start cutting stuff what do the seasoned racers have for wisdom regarding swing out door bars? What am I possibly not considering?

Nhra Rule book has a number it's supposed to be at, sorry I can't remember it off the top of my head. I tilted mine at a slightly upward angle, just had a preference of that.

Rule book says max 8" from main hoop and A pillar. That's no problem as I was sizing it up today. Just need to be sure I can easily reach the pin, but I don't want to bash my shoulder getting out. I appreciate the suggestion on the upward tilt. That's a good consideration.

If I could redo mine, I'd have done it when I was first building my cage. I would have put the bottom swing closer to the floor, it's 7 inches up and it gets in the way of my big dumb feet.

I'd put them as close to the ends as you can. And stretch it when you tack the ends in because it'll shrink a tad when you weld the end inserts in. Mine did and I had to oblong the pin holes a smidge. No biggie, but still...
