I did a search and found some interesting stuff, but no concrete answer. I want to put 235/60/r14's on the front of my demon, and 245/60/r14's on the rear. I read some things where darts have smaller wheel wells then dusters and such...where does the demon sit?

Demon is the same as the Duster, those tires will fit and look great!

You will never turn the car with 60,s up front. It will hit the strut arm,and will only allow partial turning.Your alignment will suffer also, and why 60,s up front, whats the deal?mrmopartech

Hey Demon hard to tell but thats the size on the rear of my car in the one pic 245's rear, actually went to 15's and still have the rims and 245'sfor sale if your looking for used stuff. Mopartechs right dont turn well with fat tires up front I have manual steering so even worse. Dhttp://www.cardomain.com/ride/2482122

I have 205/70-14's on the front of my Demon and they fit the wheel well nicely. I agree a 60 series tire that wide would be hard to turn w/ manual steering.

Thats whats on the car now, 205/70/14's. I'm in need of a set of BBP wheels and a fella has a set with new rubber that he will trade for my SBP rallyes, and that just happens to be the size on the rims

So am I better off sticking with what I have?
If you like the 500s, the 245 is the biggest you'll get in a 14. The front tires are cheep. I'm sure that pretty blond would buy you a set.

Demons have the same fenders as Darts and were blessed with larger openings than the Dusters and Valiants. They can take alot more tire. If you look at the front of a Duster/Valiant fender opening they come straight down while the Darts/Demon angle forward. This makes a huge difference. I run 15X7 Rallyes with 235/60X15 on the front no tire rubbing whats so ever. In the back I have 15X7 Rallyes with 275/60X15 with very little rolling of the rear fender lips on my Dart Sport. They may not have hit on the rear but didn't want to take a chance with my new tires. I can easily bend it back.

Hope this helps.

You would be correct. I have been lerking on this site for a while getting ready to start my build this fall. 72 Dart swinger, will be a small block drag car.

I have them under my '72 Demon 340 on Centerlines and they are great!

I run 275s on the front with manual steering and stock suspension. Yeah it takes more effort than the 205s did but pffft run what you want to run and I get 0 rub anything in the front.......

255/60-15s on my Duster, no problem. Stock backspace, stock axle width. Trimming the inside of the fender lip would allow a bit more, but the springs are starting to get close too, so I think realistically that's the most you're going to get before running into clearance issues with the stock chassis dimensions:
