Should the car be on the ground when i remove these or should i have the car up on jack stands?

You`ll have to have the car on jack stands (no load) and back off the tension bolts at the bottom of your lower control arm. You don`t want the bars under any stress when you remove them. The rear torsion bar mounts will have spring clips that fit in a small groove just behind the bar end that will have to be removed. Finally find something to hold fast to the bar while you hammer them out the back.Hth.

Thanks. I barrowed the special tool to remove the bars from a friend, but wasnt sure i was ready my manual right. So no load, thanks.
