Okie dokes, I picked up a '72 Swinger w/340 & 727 auto/ 489-373 diff and gear set. The Dart's in decent shape enough - it doesn't hurt your eyes at about 10 feet. Q: I'd like to R&R the 727 with a 4 speed auto... I've done a couple existing OEM manual repairs but never a swap. I'm out of practice. Is the prospect stupid? If not, what product would best, hopefully a complete kit that won't break the bank. I've touched bases with Keisler's Performance, Brewer's Performance, Classic Industries, Passon Performance, Silver Sport and few more. Kits start at about $4,000 north to $5,000. Is it worth it? Some gear heads say to stuff a GM 700-R4 in - I'm guessing they make adapter kits for it. They say it's cheaper. My biggest issue is, can I do a Mopar kit myself, on the cold cold cement floor, on my back (or face depending how agile I am) and survive? If anyone's ever done one of these, I'd sure respect and appreciate any advice. Thanks.
