Turbo sound

This is not for me but a buddy he has a 85 iroc the sounds really good.He want to put a turbo on it but dose not want to lose his sound.The chop of the can and loudness.So Will a turbo take away the sound.

It will take away some of the loudness the turbo is like a crappy muffler it just gives power but takes a little bit away from the sound. I've had alot of experience in boosted cars.

You can't just throw a turbo on and expect "Performance". He more than likely would need to change the cam since his has to wide of a lobe seperation.
Not to mention all the "Other" things like fuel system, ignition system, rear gear and so on!
Tell your buddy to leave it alone if all he is worried about is losing Sound. LoL!

IMO that turbo spooling sounds a hell of a lot better than most of the lopey V8s.

Dump the wastegate instead of routing into the exhaust and he will have a loud car when he gets into boost!:finga:
