Yep..just got an email stating that due to m any claims against them they will not be shipping auto parts anymore..Blew my mind they are picking and choosing their freight..Well Fed-ex still does 3PL shipping on auto parts and dont mind a bit, might cost a little more ..who knows..

Fastenal isn't really a shipping company. Sure, they ship a lot of stuff, but that's not their business model. They were doing customer shipping kinda like how Greyhound does it- filling out empty space in their trucks and making a few bucks along the way. But it's not completely "free" for them, there are still added fuel costs from the extra weight, etc. And if customer damage claims and insurance for the packages was cutting into the small amount of money they might have been making by providing the shipping service it becomes "not worth the hassle" really fast.

The Thursday afternoons I had to go to Greyhound to retrieve the paychecks for the rock plant and the ready mix plant. What fun it was. And hope they arrived or face the wrath of 30 angry employees. I was just a plant operator
