Bought a fel-pro complete gasket set. It has 3 types of valve seal. One type is the umbrella shaped style and the others are cup shape, large and small. Service manuals for engines of that era are not clear on the cup shape. Do I use the small ones that fit tightly on the valve guide or the larger ones? The umbrella ones I think are for exhaust valves? When taking the heads apart, there where the large cup shaped ones on all valves. I can tell that the heads have been off before as they reused the original intake gasket and did not seal the cap screw threads, lots of oil. So its not as from the factory. Many thanks to anyone that has the info.

Intake on the right, exhaust on the left.
Use a small thin piece of clear plastic hose so you do not damage the seal putting it on.

Thanks. Don't know why fel- pro included large seals in the kit but they list the 3 packages of valve seals on the contents list of the carton.
