VIN sequence number

Hey guys, so the VIN of my 1970 Duster shows the sequence number as being 408107. Is that the sequence of all A-bodies? 400k seems way to high to be just Dusters in 1970. What is it the sequence number of?
Also, when did they change over to the 1971 models? My car was built July 1st 1970.

Sequence #'s are plant wide. Most Duster 340's were made at Hamtramck. Alaskan T/A (a member here) can tell you more..maybe he will chime in.
I also have 4xx,*** 1970 Duster 340 with a SCHEDULED build date of 7-15-70.
