what is the proper way to do this?

take paint to bare metal and quikly put on weld thru primer? can you weld to it with out peeling?

body filler will stick too this? you just dont want sand past the weld thru.

will high build primier stick to the weld thru?

also. would you guys rather...sand blast, or use paint stripper?
:
take note that im seriously thinking of por-15ing the under cariage of the car, and it does have undercoating

I use 3M's weld thru primer. I only use it on area's that can't be painted on after you've finished welding, like they are now boxed in. It does blister after you’re done, so coat the metal with a good paint when you’re done.

As far as sand blasting goes, I only sand blast frames, K members, and all items that are made of thicker metal. I wouldn't sand blast body parts. I've never used paint stripper on my cars before.

I have used por15, but usually on metal that has some surface rust, then use 3M, s under coating on top of it.

I'm sure everyone has their own way of doing this and depending on where you live you may tackle this differently. If you’re in the winter hi salt area and you drive your car year round, you will do things differently to a guy thats car never see's rain.
