Hey guys Im curious on what is exactly the differences in the 67 383 A-body engines compared to 68 or 69. Are the blocks different etc?

The crank hub is smaller on the 67 and older engines, 68 and up has the large hub crank. Also A body specific big blocks have two extra bosses cast into them above the oil filter for the special motor mounts.

If your using an original big block A body K member and motor mounts then the block must have the two bosses sticking out of the front of the block on the driver side for the motor mount, not all blocks have them, some blocks have them but they aren't drilled. If your car isn't an original big block car and has the conversion motor mounts with a small block or slant 6 K frame, then any block will work.

Well mine is a original big block car. I just didnt know the differences. Now that I know ill have to take a better look to see how their made differently. Thanks guys. I will certainly have to be careful on how much beating I do to this engine. Too rare to replace.

Hey Adam, here is a thread from a while back, about the BB K-frame and motor mounts with pics.
