What comes first ??

What do you people believe would come first. The Chicken or the Egg ?? jk thats not the real question, but this is... I just acquired a floor shifter from Lokar for my 727 that I plan to use with my center console instead of the factory floor shifter. I would love to know what to do first ! Do I install the transmission first and then decided where to install the shifter and console set up, OR do yall think installing the shifter and console first would be the way to go then bolt in your transmission? I am open to suggestions !! THANKS FOR ANY HELP YALL !!

I'd put the trans in first. You could just slide a couple of bolts through the rear mout so you could lower it a bit for access, That way when you put your shifter in and position it you will now where to route the cable without rubbing on the exhaust or kinking it.

i forgot to mention it is the linkage style shifter not the cable !! but would that make a difference?
