Ok I found a 1969 340 4-speed survivor Mr Norm's car and I'm wondering what I should pay for it. Bench seat running gear all numbers matching needs a light interior resto and some tlc and elbow grease. Should I pay the 10G the guy wants?

No, let me buy the car and save you the hassle.

If the car isn't rusty and the owner has paperwork proving it's a Grand Spaulding car, I'd say it's probably a fair price.

what do you think it would be worth cleaned up?

sorry to hijack the thread, but how do you go about determining if a car was a Mr. Norm car? In this instance, are you just claiming that it was sold from his dealership?

I ask because I just sold a 69 Bee that had that same faded Mr Norm sticker in the rear window. Never bothered to even investigate where it came from. In fact - I DID drive up to Michigan to buy the car.

In regard to the OP's question, I would think ANY NOM 340 survivor car would be worth about that much - let alone one from a famous performance dealer. Survivor cars are a pretty rare commodity.

A car sold at Mr. Norms dealership and a Mr. Norms car are not the same thing.

Still…. You can't go very wrong on a $10k, matching numbers 340, 4 speed dart.

Just check everything out, the numbers, vin and fender tag codes. Don't rely on an old looking sticker for anything.

Not sure why it would have 3 fender tags. If all three are the same I would question that.

My car was ordered by the original owner and it only has one tag. Lots of people checked off the boxes back then and special ordered their car.

Yeah true....not every car sold from his dealership had some stage of "tuning" done, I would guess.....

As far as the '69 Bee.....ahhhhh, don't let it keep you up at night......it probably wasn't worth $75K.......unrestored.

What he said! ^^^^

I'm not positive, but I believe the Mr. Norm cars had additional fender tags that stated what changes were made.

OK, just clarifying a few things. If a muscle car was sold NEW at Mr. Norm's Grand Spaulding Dodge, it was dyno tuned before delivery. The new owner was also enrolled in the Mr. Norm's Sport club. Given that fact, every car was given a little special treatment and would have been more likely to have been delivered NEW with aftermarket tachs, wheels, or any performance upgrades possible that were typical day 2 upgrades anywhere else, even though it may not have been called a GSS.
There were no additional fender tags to denote these changes from the dealer.
I am not sure if there were even enough available options on a 69 Dart to warrant it having more than one. If it has three, let us know what is on them. Is the car a Swinger 340 or a GTS 340?

Someone asked how to tell if a car was sold new at Grand Spaulding Dodge. Larry Weiner from Performance West and Mr. Norm's Garage owns the paperwork from the dealership approximately from 68 to 73. If you call him with the VIN from the car in question, he can tell you if he still has paperwork in the form of a dealership file on that particular car. For other years you would have to hope that the owner has a paper trail to document the car.

Well, I'm a little confused. I thought all of Mr. Norm's cars where big block. I thought that was the point?

Jim

From the pictures you showed, I would look at the car very closely. The car is wearing ralley wheels, not correct for a 69. I would see what else has been changed before paying a "survivor" price for the car. Either way,it looks interesting.

All Mr. Norm's GSS Darts were big blocks. In 68, the only place you could buy an M code Dart was at Grand Spaulding Dodge. The 68 GSS Dart is also the only GSS car that can be identified by the VIN. The rest have to be documented by the paperwork. This is the reason I scrutinize every picture of a 71 or 72 Demon I see for signs that it may have been modified into a GSS Demon.

I've already called Mr Norm's guys to check authenticity and I will post with results

Do either of you happen to know how I can get a hold of that guy's # to check up on the Bee I mentioned earlier?

Thanks for the info.

I think the Mr Norm thing is overrated. Remember they were a Dodge store too. You could buy a slant six powered 4 door Coronet from Grand-Spaulding Dodge. Does that make it a "MR NORM'S" car and worth more than your "regular" 4 door slant six Coronet??

Unless there is paperwork authenticating there was extra work done on the car before it rolled off the showroom floor, I don't think this 340 Swinger is worth more because of the little decal on the trunk lid.

well I got more pictures last night and needless to say there will need to be some paint work done on the car sooooo I'm gonna pass on this one. There is also something fishy going on with the seller one minute is was in indoor storage and now he says it sat outside for 30 years soo no dice.
