Need some help guys, Im still a little ways away from starting my resto on my 72 demon. Just getting the things i need together so it goes a little smoother once started.
Heres my question - I picked up a 383 block and plan on doing a 496 stroker... shooting for base of 650HP and eventually up from there i'd say max 800 in the future. well the motor didnt come with a tranny so im wondering what a good tranny would be to keep my eye out for and what mods to do to it to handle the power. I plan on a little bit of strip but for the most part just for goin for ice cream on sunday
Other question is rear end - i cant remember what is in it right now but it was a auto 340 car if that helps. can I build it strong enough to handle the power? or should it be scrapped and go bigger? for gearing im planning on 4:11 with posi
Still unsure of what stall im gonna go with so any reccomendations there would be great, and I live about an hour from town so a tranny with overdrive may be a good idea for down the highway.
