Anyone here have a recommendation on where I can find a good carb rebuild kit for a Carter AFB 9755? I see some on Amazon (not gonna go there), eBay (ditto), Summit (possibly?), and a place called Mike's Carburetor Parts.

The one I have had really old gas in it, and needs to completely taken apart and rebuilt, w/new floats and accel pump(s), at the very least.

Thanks!

If you can look it up on Rock Auto ,I bought a couple kits there recently one for a BBD and one for a Thermoquad...you may need to ascertain what car it may have been on and look it up by vehicle...worth a try.

if you need all that and a bag of chips, i'd go with mike's. you know you're going to get the right stuff the first time and the parts are going be top quality. and there's somebody on the end of the line to talk to.

if you're looking for a little more economical route and you're alright with okay to good stuff and ordering things you may not need and returning, summit is a viable option.

if you like to spend as little as possible and roll dice, then you could splash the pot at amazon and see what comes up on the roulette wheel. it's a real 50/50 there sometimes.

Thank you for the idea(!), but I'm not sure that I'll be able to find on OEM application, as it's my understanding that this model was an aftermarket unit. Kind of like an 1850 or 3310 Holley....

Of course I could be wrong, but I know for a fact that it wasn't original to the truck that I'm trying to resurrect ('67 F250 I hauled home from CA a few years ago):

And my apologies for the Ford question, but I am finding a lot of AFB's online with Mopar applications, so I'm hoping....

Sounds like you've heard of, or are familiar with Mike's? I've always owned and worked-on Holleys, and parts for them can be found dang near anywhere! Never worked on an AFB before, so I have no experience with Mike's/them, but I like the idea of having an actual person on the other end of the purchase.

Cost is "kinda sorta" an issue, as I'd like to keep the costs down since I'm still not sure if I'm going to flip this truck or drive it. (I really don't need two of them.)

But even if I do flip it, my name will be associated with it, so I want to Do Right by it, both for the sake of the next owner, and also so that I can sleep soundly at night.

yeah, i've bought from mike's. along with woodruff mentioned up thread. both are legit and sell the good things and stuffs.

if you can do a holley, you'll be able to do a carter in your sleep. or half drunk on bad vodka while watching your favorite baseball team lose. either/or, really.

i'd say for your situation the price difference of piecemealing a kit together vs. buying one isn't worth the savings or *** ache. a complete kit is in the 40~60 range and floats are about 10/ea so you'd likely still be sub $100 for the whole encharito. you could *maybe* do it for half buying here and there and getting questionable parts, incomplete kits and waiting on shipping.

i'd blow it apart, see what you need and then either order online or just ring up mikes or woodruff and be done with it.

you sound a lot like me. don't matter if i'm flipping it, my name's still on it. and i like to sell with confidence. what's another 50 for piece of mind and not having to jump thru hoops.
