I know I asked this question in my 4 spd swap thread but was hoping to get a few more peoples opinion.
I'm having a 833 built and the builder says he can put anything I want into it for gears. I can't decide between:
3.09 od
3.09 standard
or the
2.66 standard
He's recomending the 3.09 OD for my setup.
Same price any gear set.
1972 Duster, this is going to be a street only car, with some highway. It currently has 3.91 gears, but I would be willing to swap gears if I went with a standard tranny at some point. The car has a MP 360/390 crate.
Can you make a 2.66 OD gear set?
Can you make a OD IBR fit in my 4.8" lakewood bell?
Below is the gear ratio chart for my setup with 1,2,3, and 4th being 3.09, 1.67,1, .73 for your consideration. ( pay no attention to column 5
) I must say being able to do 80 mph at ~3000 rpm is appealing.
What do you run in your 833 for gears? and what do you like/dislike about it?
