Which backspacing

On my 76 Dart Sport, which backspacing would I use for (REAR) 8" rims, tires are 255/60 X 15? Springs are in stock location.

4.5" should be fine .

4.5 should work I had 15x10 with 275/60/15 with 4.5 BS on my 73 Dart Sport. The tire would run when I hit a hard bump. Since you have a smaller tire and rim I think you will be fine.

What type of springs do you have ? With SS Springs you have more room. I went with more of a stock BS, 3.75, no need to worry about the fender and I'm not near the spring.

agreed on 4.5 however,..I would use 4in back space..When I had 4.5 and a 8 1/4 the tires with 275/60/15 were less than 1/8 away and rubbed. When I move to 4in they pushed out towards the wheel well and fit. However with a 8 3/4, I am not sure because I am going back to 4.5.
