Which flexplate to choose

Hi all,

I'm running a 1973 Dart Sport with the 318 engine and a TF A904 transmission. I'm looking to replace my flex plate because of a rattle. Now looking at a new plate I see both the ATP Z-196 and Z-197.

I believe I need the Z-196 but looking to verify if that is the right choice.. Like to think along with me?

ATP Z-196 is the correct flex plate for the 318 and A904 transmission.

ATP Z-197 is the flex plate for the A727 transmission with the larger 11-3/4" torque converter, except 225 six cylinder and 426 Hemi.

ATP Z-196 also fits the A727 with the smaller 10-3/4" torque converter, except 225 six cylinder and 426 Hemi.
