As the title says, who makes a good deep fryer? After all the yummy stories of fried turkeys I might be in the market for one.

Do you fry a fresh or a turkey that has been frozen & defrosted?

I deep fried my first turkey 3 years ago and I will never cook one in an oven again it was .... awesome .

Been doing that way for years, kids insist on me doing it that way now. I got a King Cooker. If using a frozen turkey make sure it is totally thawed before dropping it in. I try to pat it dry also, lessens the oil boiling up. 3.5 per lb for a full bird. Marinate it first, and it will turn out awesome!

I used an oil less Charbroil Big Easy cooker this year after deep frying with peanut oil for years. Academy Sports has the Oil less on sale for $89. I cooked 3 turkeys so far and loaned it to my neighbors to cook theirs. Everyone raved about how good they turned out and cleaned the bones so I know how I will be cooking them from now on. The savings in oil has already paid for it and it is lots safer, no worrying about oil boiling over.
