Just installed the new Demon's 4 spd linkage from Brewers and it won't shift into any gear. Actually, the shorter rod, 3-4, doesn't allow me to adjust it short enough to get to neutral. I can't align the three levers on the bottom of the Abody Hurst shifter box. This Hurst is old and sloppy and it's the first time i've tried to use it. I've been using an Ebody with a Pistol Grip. What could I be doing wrong?

People really over complicate this.

1. Put a pin in the hole on the shifter (this locks the levers in place).

2. Make sure all three leavers on the trans are in neutral and oriented correctly.

3. Turn the adjusters on the rods until the rods fall into place.

4. Tighten all the rod nuts.

4. Enjoy.

Now if your rod bushings are shot or the shifter assembly is bad, none of this may work.

Good info, thanks. I've done this before but after a long helpful conversation with Wayne at Brewers, it looks like the side tabs on the trans might not be for an Abody. Pulling them at lunch to get #'s off them.

Turns out the lever on the side of the trans for the 1-2 linkage had the wrong angle slot in it. I had another, changed it and it works.
