I can get a 8 1/4 rear end from a 1977 Cordoba but will it fit my 76 Dart Sport or be too wide? Will I have to just move the spring perches or is there something else?

I think it will be too wide. I haven't measured one personally, but according to Hemings the 9.25's that came in the 75+ B-bodies were 57 3/4" flange to flange. That would make them about 3" wider than the 68-70 B-body 8 3/4, which is already almost 2 3/8" wider than an a-body 8 3/4. I run a 68-70 b-body 8 3/4 in my Duster and I definitely wouldn't want to go wider than that.

But I'm assuming that the 75+ 8.25 is the same width as the 9.25 for those years, and it might not be. Here's the info

Way too wide. IF you can grab one from a Diplomat you can run mid 90's-up mustang wheels after you swap the perches.

What is the width of a regular Dakota 8.25 with 5 bolt hubs? This is my Dart Sport with a set of stock 15x7 rallye wheels and a Dakota axle. It is also wider than the 68-70 B body axles.

Dakota rear is WAY wider than a duster. Like 5-6" wider.

I have a 96 Dakota in my weld shop now I'm rebuilding pat of the frame... Ill try to measure it tomorrow for you.

I knew it was wider but I figured it would fit. The rear tires on Dusters, Demons and Dart Sports always seem sucked in too far. The Dakota axle allowed me to run stock width wheels and look a bit better doing it.
