I was looking at the Wilwood catalog for rear brakes for my car and it ask about a snap ring, I just bought the car and was told it has Moser axles with the green brgs. About to take one of the axles out to see what it looks like and check the splines also has 2.36" and 2.72" what is this dimension are they talking about the distance from the brg. to the axle flange?

This ebay auction shows how to measure the axle to flange distance. Just scroll down to axle flanges.

Just a side note when I did mine I had to have a spacer machined for between the axle and rotor to correct the measurement. It was short by like .200" for some reason. That was with aftermarket axles and the green bearings with snap rings.

Willwood brakes also require large 4.5" bolt circle unless they have changed in the last few years.

I'm not sure if your heart is set on the Wildwood set up but I am also converting my rear to disk. I am using the scarebird adapters http://www.scarebird.com/. I have all the parts and done all the machine work. The only thing that needed to be machined were the center of the rotors so that it would fit the center hub on the axle. I could have just machined the axle so that if and when I replace the rotor I don't have to machine the rotors again. I just didn't like the idea of machining the axle.

I haven't assembled anything yet. I am working on my swapping the gears out. Once that is done which hopefully is soon, I'll post everything up on here so everyone can check it out.

If you would of had axles right from Yukon, the bearings they supply are the ones with the snap rings. The 2.36 is what you get when you change to the 4.5 pattern axles.
This is what I have on my 65 Cuda with the Wilwood rear disc kit.
