Wiper motor color

On to the wiper motor,was it painted or left kind of silver,74 Duster.

I think it depended on the year (I don't know the cutoff). The 1960s motors were gold in color plated (zinc phosphate?). The later ones in the 1970s I think were painted black.

I think 2 speeds are black and 3 spds are plated
