Show That Lowered A-body!

Oh well here I am again asking questions. I've read where some people are cutting down the LCA bump stops to go that much more lower. But how much up travel is needed to be safe ? I'm 1/2 inch off the stop.

I didn't cut mine down but instead used a button style stop. With the /6 torsion bars, I really need 2" drop spindles. Although the front end seems to have a lot of travel, I can get the front end bouncing to the point that the button will just kiss the frame. That is with the shocks out. These are the only pics I have at the moment. Just got her on the ground over the weekend.

Not yet. As you can see it's sideways in my garage and makes taking a side picture about impossible. I'm waiting on a temporary MC to come in from Oreilly's tomorrow so I can get some brakes on it and move it out of the garage. The aluminum one I got from Dr. Diff was bad and Dr. Diff is on vacation until the 18th so I can't get a replacement until after then. How convenient! :banghead:

My front end was sitting on the bump stops when I was driving it around. I noticed no ill issues at all. I had hotchkis rear suspension and Doctor Diff front hangers, which lowered the rear almost 3 1/2". I turned the front down to match.
 
I was doing some test fitting with the ball joint covers off. This is what I saw with the factory bump stop touching the frame, not compressed hard. Take note of the funky ball joint angle.
I've not heard of any serious issues resulting from turning the suspension down, but I do wonder what it does to ball joint life.

You must be driving on glass smooth roads.
 
Thought I'd update my pic since my first post when the thread was started. Slightly lower with new shoes. This is about as low as I can get it with torsion bar/leaf spring set up with 8.75" wide wheels and still have a working suspension. It does bottom out occasionally with 1.06" bars, but thats because our roads are junk.

I pretty much have it slammed into the ground further than anybody here, and I gave it that unmistakable rake. Granted, I still have somebody work to finish,( the panel fitment is a bit out of whack, and it needs a 4 wheel alignment. ( It leans a bit.) I think we're pretty much there. And look a sun roof too.
Anybody who needs a few tips on getting that ground pounding stance, I'm more than willing to share the secret, and this can be done on a budget.

MrMoparman and Clinteg, you guys both have killer stances! Love the all business look of a Dart with the right stance.
