Stop in for a cup of coffee

Ron you suck at photoshop!
Wisht I had photoshop; the Apple equivalent is by no means equivalent. But Carl asked me how I made the Flintstone Monte mashup and I was just hackin' around showin' him how to cut and paste and I opened up my photos and said "Look - Say I wanted to make a picture of Ray on Sharon's Eliminator..." and then I hacked it together quick and one thing led to another and Sharon said "Now make his beard Blue" and that led to more and once it was that far done we decided to share it just for s4i+s and grins.

Yesterday we learned ya' can't run a bead of weld on 20 ga sheet metal with a MIG. Nobody can. Even Batman couldn't. Even McGuyver couldn't. It gets too hot and ya' blow holes in it. Ya' gotta do a lot o' little spot welds, then come back and spot weld between those, etc etc and once't ya' let it cool ya' can fill the holes a little at a time. So now we're movin' right along. 'Cept now we gotta go to Gratz wid'jer wife.

Ya' gotta admit this one was OK -

Grrrr had some lab tests done in Feb, get a bill in late April saying BALANCE NOW DUE so I paid it, not realizing that my insurance covered it...20 minute phone call and a refund was promised, never came...this time a 45 minute 3-way call saying lab company didn't have my Explanation of Benefits. No wonder costs are out of control, stupid crap like this. My sister blithely informed me you should always wait and see if your insurance pays...now I know...sorry for the rant, please just carry on, guys.

What's everyone doing this weekend? Tomorrow is my weigh-in, I hope to have lost some more...

this happens a LOT. I learned this the hardway myself. It took me 8 months to get a refund on my knee surgery payment. I no longer pay a bill until after I call my insurance company to see if they paid it. What I've found is most bills for expensive stuff like tests, Xrays, MRIs etc, they send a bill to you and to your insurance company. Mine is really good at sending me a letter within 2-3 days, telling me what they paid of it and what i "may" owe. Its worth the 10-15 minutes on the phone to avoid stuff like that.

Speakin o' witch, if any of younz have photoshop or better skills than I with the Apple inequivalent, and would like to open that cartoon, make the car Gulf Green or thereabouts with a dark green top, and re-post it for me, I will be thoroughly grateful and will prob'ly get some tee shirts made up of it.

Speakin' o' witch, hey Keith I went on eBay where I got my vinyl top - By the way it's Levant Dark Green - and they DO make Plymouth and Dodge tops. The quality appears excellent and the prices are good - 1970 1972 MONTE CARLO DARK GREEN LEVANT VINYL TOP ORIGINAL DOUBLE HEAT SEAMS | eBay
Mine's good. I got one from Legendary a few years ago. I did recently paint it with SEM. When I got it, there were rub marks where it was folded in the box. I probably should have returned it, but did not want to wait a few more months after the first one was on a long backorder. I tried to clean it and roughed up the surface. I got it looking pretty even, but I can still see the spots.

18th? Combat deployment?
Not really. The unofficial motto is 'hide with pride.' Strategic Deterrence patrols underwater on Trident submarines. Average two and half months per deployment, twice a year, two boats for five years, and this last boat for three years. If I become a combat vet, it's the second coming, the apocalypse. THe weather includes fallout and the global map changes, so i get paid to be the back end of the big spear-not the 'tip of the spear' as they say.

well welcome back!! must feel nice to be on terra firma!!

It's sooooo good to be back. One feels institutionalized with strict routine and a command that micro manages every last waking minute of our awake time. Plus, i miss the sun also. It is weird to miss the sun. I am looking forward to driving my ROad Runner!

Those are tops made with Haartz vinyl and it is very good. It's what I used back when I had my auto upholstery business. I installed several thousand tops and never had one come back for material defects or failures in the 6 years I was doing it.

I'm just going to use a vinyl tablecloth and do a mod-top:poke::lol: Paisley, flowers, Thanksgiving, whatever they got over there at Big Lots.

Delusions of grandeur...

16 year old, just joined yesterday....

16yrs old, first car advise?!

Opened a What's it worth" thread:

Push button 727 torque flite trans worth?

They told him about $500 and he lists it for $2500 to recoup some of his losses from paying too much for his car.....

But with it being a push button trans, it's a niche market at best if you can find someone who needs one, and that one's priced waaaaayyyy to high....

If he's paying $3000 for a trans rebuild, I want to be the middle man in there and get me some of that ca$h, I could get them rebuild cheaper than $3000....

EDIT: Oh yeah, he only paid $1500 for the engine & trans together.... Read the first post in the 16 year old thread...
