Stop in for a cup of coffee

morning.

Hey guys. Question for you all, that 64 polara of mine, original points car, switched to electronic ignition. The main body harness catches fire the moment you turn the key. I'm wanting to attempt to run the engine. I can get the thing to crank by jumping the terminals, but unsure from this point what I need to do to essentially by pass the main harness for now? The other option is I pick up a points dizzy from hoppy for the poly 318 and convert it back to points, which I have no problem with, but I'm completely unfamiliar with point setups on these cars. I'm not looking to drive it, mainly looking to see if the thing will run after sitting for 16 years.

If you can get it to crank and start by jumping the starter relay, then you most likely have a NSS problem...

Ok, back from Belvidere and downloading pics from the camera... Used a whole battery and a half of charge...

Had a good time, ran into Eddie and his brother Will... Will's Roadrunner won a 3rd place plaque...

Not actually tried to start it, just bumped the starter a few times to see if it'd rotate over .

A what problem?

Well, I'm back from Hoppyland.

2.5 hrs drive up, 2.5 hrs hanging out with Ray and Ron checking out the Sun equipment, distributors, etc. and then drove the Popmobile over to check out Ron's Monte (I drove the Pop 'cause I was the only one sober :D). Then loaded up the cabinet and some other goodies and did the 2.5 hrs drive home in the pouring rain.

All-in-all...a great way to spend a Sunday!

just checked the radar - it does appear we're going to get some the next day or two - grass is turning brown, we NEED some rain

I have to say, that Sun distributor machine Hoppy has is seriously cool. It is hands-down the best way to recurve a distributor to whatever configuration you want. If I had more space, I'd get one!
