Garage Squad 70 Duster

Its all Hollywood. I enjoy watching anything related to or old cars, IF the stars really love the old car deal. I know $$ is the root of it all, but if you watch close you can tell upon occasion when these guys really love the old cars.
That's a pretty Duster stroked340 ... looks great in orange.

Thank you...

I consider a hack, as someone who doesn't do his own work. DO YOU ?

NO..a hack is someone that does inferior work...And yes I do as much as I can, what ever I can't do because of time or proper equipment I let only HIGHLY trained PROFESSONALS do..no one else is allowed to touch EVER..

I started watching the show last year and it was ok but not great-what kind of a show can you do in 30 minutes.
My recorder started recording the new hour format this year and the show took a large leap up in quality and interest.
The last one I saw was a 68 Chevelle they did for a Marine's family after he succumbed to PTSD from Afghanistan.
I thought the did a good job on the car, they even painted it in the owners garage which was quite a dog and pony show.
They are good people who are trying to help other good people and I can't say a bad thing about them.
Not every show has to be Dave Kindig or Chip Foose------these folks do a different kind of build.
And then there is Heather---------------------:)

I watch their show once in a while. But I GOTTA SAY, THAT BLOWN DUSTER LOOKED PRETTY SICK, 'bad'' FOR A BLOWN CAR> as in slow.

Don't worry no hacks are allowed anywhere near it..

NICE car. I don't think ANY Mopar ever looked as good in orange as Dusters and Demons. I kinda meant my comment tongue in cheek. But I totally agree. I wouldn't let any hacks near it either. I have kinda the same problem. I have several gear head friends who are OK mechanics, but when they do something big, they always ask for my help. But when they offer to help me, I always politely turn them down. I really don't mind helping other people, but I don't want ANYBODY else touching my car but me and my wife. That's right. When I need an extra pair of hands, my wife always helps me.

I think it's a nice program for people who can't, don't, or won't. I do so I wouldn't, but glad for the people who get help. I like helping, but my wife is my only helper too.

What do you call a group of people who come to people's homes offer free help and a limited budget for that pile of crap that's been doing nothing but collecting dust for years?
They are NOT hacks!! They are doing the best work they can withstanding fact that they are usually in a strange city/state at somebody's personal resistance. I would think even the most simple-minded of people would understand that this is not a high-end restoration show for people with big budgets and that sort of thing. It is quite clear to even someone as dim as me that this program is much more about getting life breathed in to a pile of crap that if they wouldn't have showed up would still be sitting there today. But now everyone they've touched gets to at least Drive their car around and drive it to have better work done to it maybe or have some improvements done or have some enthusiasm about the car again to make even more improvements. I know in my own heart if the same crew had an unlimited budget with unlimited shop to work in that there would be no hack work as it's called. I agree if these guys were given a proper proper shop and a proper proper budget and they turned out something bad that of course that would be a hack. But let's get Chip Foose in a strange state in a strange garage with only the tools at hand and only a week and see how good he does?

Anyone that calls them hacks is a douchebag. Flat out plain and simple. Wouldnt hold a door open for a lady, or anything else that requires some sense of humanity.
Be gone loser

Ok, I use to watch that show but after seeing them put a "new" set of headers and stainless tips on that '70-'72 442 and left the dented bent and rusted pipes and mufflers on it:wtf::wtf: they became hackers, that I no longer watch..

just can't hack it /handle watching , can you stroked340. pity, you are coming off as a rich spoiled punk spending money for labor you can not do for yourself.
I think your car is nice, but I have to wonder if all the work is farmed out.
oh yea forgot GO SEAHAWKS !!!!

He is rich because he farms some stuff out that he doesn’t have the tool/machinery or time to do? Really!?

Maybe like me he works overtime buys/sells parts to afford to pay to farm certain things out. I’m far from rich and spoild and still farm some things out. I just work nights weekends, holidays and overtime plus sell some extra things in order to pay for it.

If the shoe fits wear it. if not then don't. People who knock others MUST BE superior in some way , if not money then WHAT.

for the record Joe, I'm not knocking a person working hard and earning enough money to farm out work. we all do in some fashion.

Okay I agree with stroked340 in one aspect the show pissed me off in that episode with the black I think it was a challenger or Cuda and they didn't do anything to the motor and still seem to smoke! I was pissed! To a Mopar! But I've got to understand that the show probably brings in a certain budget and ability and then it may be up to the individual to budget a little more if need be or if they can afford to. So that's if I may say it's where the buck stops LOL (for myself and I feel for many others that is the biggest restraint from our cars being everything we would want them to be). There was that one episode with the Barracuda and it seemed the guy just couldn't do the work himself or whatever Health reason but he had what seemed like an unlimited budget and they made that thing pretty badass as I recall. But they didn't need any expensive Parts he already had most of them.
