NHRA is in town this weekend and I can't decide if I want to go or not. Two tickets plus snacks, souvenirs, and assorted crap I buy is sure to equal well over $200.00. Anybody been to one of these things? Is it worth it?
Seriously, unless she is really into cars and racing, she probably won't like it anyway.Maybe I'll go without my better half and cut down on the spending! Lol.
She’s not.Seriously, unless she is really into cars and racing, she probably won't like it anyway.
The first time I went to Minnesota Dragway's it was awesome. We could stand right behind the starting line and when a Top Fueler did it's burn outs, you could feel the heat from the dragster and my white tee shirt was covered in black rubber dots. And of course I had to quickly jam fingers into my ears. So yeah definitely bring ear plugs. The fingers thing didn't work very well!If you never felt a nitro dragster fire up then yeah.
I have the good luck to have a few in the shops near me and when they crack off its unreal.
Feeling the eye burn and the thump in your chest is awesome. Then when they wack the skinny pedal, well I cant explain it.
Its something else.
With NHRA, every ticket IS a pit pass.Do yourself a favor, and get a pit pass
I agree that you should go, you will enjoy it.
Don't take your wife if she's not into it at all.
She will hate it because the cars are loud, the fuel stinks, and the smoke from the burn outs stinks even more.
If that doesn't get her, than the repetitive runs will.
Do yourself a favor, and get a pit pass so you can watch the between rounds thrashing that goes on as well as looking at all of the cars in general.
To me, that's half of it, and watching the actual racing from the stands is the other half.
Personally, i get more from watching the stock and super stock cars than any of the others.
The fuel classes are impressive because of the sheer power and violent sounds.
Be prepared to have your teeth rattle and chest vibrate when they go by while making their runs!
You will not regret it if you go!
To answer your question, it is well worth it to go..............
