Put some chicken breasts in salt water for about 2 hours last week then cooked them. They came out real tender so trying that with a rib eye steak tonight to see if that makes a difference in being tender. Not much of a cook just stupid enough to try something new. lol

I dry brine mine. Go a head and try it in water if you want. I wouldnt. Let us know how it works out.

Got bit by a deer fly today lower arm and hand swelled up pretty good. Got s little dizzy to. Neighbor game me an allergy pill. Seemed to help a lot. That and ice. Taking it easy too. Caught a Chipmunk in the mouse trap in my garage. Poor guy. I think its the only one around here. He sure was fun to watch. Oh well. Just a cute rat.

Really works good on those birds. I usually salt the steak a couple ours before letting them come to room temperature. Reall cook nice that way.

One of the disadvantages to living by a body of water. I killed three of them today' I found a little trick. Get your body real close to a building and sometimes they will land on the building and then you can whack em.

seems like most of the bugs around here come out in thousands about July 4th but been a dry year so hopping the mosquitoes are few this year. Fly's will be a problem I think but time will tell.

I was just reading about brining corn on the cob before grilling it. They seasoned it and pulled the husk back up and soaked it in saltwater for 15 min then grilled the heck out of it.

5 o'clock and 99*f, I took my dogs to the park at 7:30 this morning, and haven't been out of the house since we got back around 9. It's 73* f with the a/c on.:)
Unfortunately I have to work tomorrow and the forecast is still 99f.

Friends of mine do corn that way too. I'm not a big fan of corn but it is very good when done that way.

Well the Asparagus was fantastic but will make a mental note to myself on making a steak in salt water. First of all I over cooked it then second mistake is the salt water soaking is not a good idea for beef. Third mistake is I had to eat the rubber steak so I didn't waste a steak. 4th is I learned a lesson.

Morning Guys,
So yesterday started out like a normal day. Landed up going to the emerg around 1pm with darting severe pain in my side that would take your breathe away.
They did a MRI and bloodwork and said it looked like I had Kidney stone and that I had passed it. Finally got to leave at at 6pm.
Not being used to being in a hospital I should have taken a jacket, it was freezing in there. A wonder I didn't get hypothermia lol
One woman as I was about to leave commented on how long she had been waiting. I asked how long she had been there for. She replied at least an hr and a half and this was awful.
I told her that everyone goes to Triage and then it's determined how severe the illness is.
I said to here if you have to wait that means there are people a lot sicker then you so be thankful. She sure shut up real quick.
Feeling better today but still a little tender if I turn the wrong way.
