I had not one but two bad u joints causing the vibration. I also had my carb out of adjustment and could not tell because of the vibration when driving.

Thanks for your help I got the Dart up and running last night. I also got to drive it today and vibration is gone.

Idk where you are located but Warner Spring in Indianapolis would have or be able to make any spring set you would want, from factory to whatever you want.

Sounds like a valve spring to me. Did you check them yet?

As far as the coating on the tank, I have never cleaned it off of a tank I have installed. Never had a problem.
