    Rear end width?

Crackedback, thanks for the tip. It makes sense and interestingly I was thinking of making the rear about 1/4 " narrower on each side just to give a little more clearance to the outside. The Darts are not that easy to slip a wider tire into. The rear I have was under a 30's chebby truck, so I...

    Rear end width?

I have a B-body 8 ¾ rear with 11 x 3” brakes. I’m going to have it narrowed to stock A-body size. Do I need to make the housing and axles narrower to fit the 3” brakes? Stock A-body 8 ¾ came with 1 ¾“ brakes. It seems like I would want to narrow 1 ¼ “ on each side more than stock A-body...

whoops; shoulda' done this a while back

Well, I forgot this part. Dang. Joined a few months back, or longer. I don't get on very often, work and life keep me pretty busy. I live in northern Idaho, before that southern Utah. I've been into Mopars since about 1965, when I was six and my parents bought a Cornet station wagon. Darts...

Guys, Thanks for the kind words. I like the truck a lot and it was fun to build. But life marches on and by the time I can get to it I'll be a bit older then I am already. Um, 65Vart, could you turn the other way.... :happy10:

Nice. I'm glad he still has it. Other then the ticket in Denver, I still have fond memories of driving it to St. Louis for delivery. Stupid right rear turn signal light wouldn't work, but the brake lights and emergency flashers worked, so the wiring and light was fine. I changed lanes so the...

1967 A-108 Crew Cab One of a kind.

Thanks Chasduster. It was a fun project to design and build, but I'm living 1000 miles away now and with family and all the other life deals it's looking like a while before I could work on it again. Plus there's a couple of Darts I want to get to first. Hopefully someone else will pick up...

    Anyone esle try this?

4mulaS, There is a difference between Lacquer thinner and Acetone. The acetone will attack fiberglass resin (use acetone to clean tools up after resin). You've done a great job on the dash pad, hate to see you soften it all up with the wrong chemical.
