    Carter 2361 a BBD???

Howdy, I just got a cast iron 2 barrel intake manifold from a friend that will fit my 1984 225 slant six truck. My friend also included several carburetors, and the 2 barrel in the box is a Carter with number 2361 embossed just below the Carter Carburetor St. Louis USA embossing on the bowl...

    Super six

Thanks for the reply. No problem, hopefully a "local" can pick those up from you. We have Chrysler Nationals at Carlisle, Pennsylvania coming up in July, I am sure I can find some goodies there too.

    BAD lean spot.... any suggestions??

Thanks RedFish. The EGR has only a vacuum port and appears to be fine. I recently bypassed it, removed it and made a temporary gasket to insert under the EGR from a beer can. No change resulted. The vacuum diaphragm seems to hold vacuum with a handheld vacuum pump. When connected I can move...

    BAD lean spot.... any suggestions??

It seems like some kind of a vacuum leak, but I cannot find any with a propane torch. Actually I see no change at all using the propane, and no change in engine speed even if I stick the open propane bottle into the mouth of the carburetor while running. I would have expected the rpm's to...

    Timing and idle

Copy and paste this: Sun Electric Tune-Up Chart, 1971 Mopar 225-Six and enter it into ebay search.

    Timing and idle

Have you checked the carburetor and made sure it is tight to the intake? I would also check the intake manifold to ensure it is not developing a vacuum leak also.

    I don't wanna google this

Actually beer is better for the suspension. It controls the "hops".

The type of water would vary with the vehicle type. If you owned a Demon you would want to use "holy water" to check the timing.

    Ohms reading of temperature sensor???

Thanks for the info. I think I will try about a 1K resistor to ground connected to the wiring connector to try to "fool" the ESC to not be retarding my spark since I am using an aftermarket temperature sensor. Currently the connector is unconnected, so hopefully the resistor will allow the ESC...

    BAD lean spot.... any suggestions??

The catalytic converter was my thought too. I just had a new catalytic converter, muffler, and exhaust installed earlier this week, and still really no change in the lean spot issue. I'm stumped!!

    Ohms reading of temperature sensor???

Howdy, I am needing to know the ohms reading of the stock temperature sensor for a slant 6 with the idiot light and not the gauge. I need the ohms reading for cold and hot please. Thanks!!! My /6 is a 1984 pickup if that information is needed.

    BAD lean spot.... any suggestions??

No, all of the parts are new and just fine. I just bought the truck last summer and I am still getting it "right". I have also replaced my timing chain and gears and installed a new harmonic balancer. I am just at a loss for the "lean spot" under load at the bottom end of my rev range. I am...
