I bet too. So I called southbend and told them my situation,and they bet the same way. I also called a local machine shop and they said if the motor is internally balanced the 5.9 f/w could be balanced neutral.

I’ll try backing it out and see where it comes out to. I thought I could bend it but not cold, needs some heat I guess? I did machine a 3/4” piece to weld in just not sure of the ID. Thanks for the replies

I have a Milodon pan and pickup, with a Melling HV oil pump. With the gasket on the rails I get 1” from pickup to bottom of pan. What is the best way to get the 1/4”-3/8” clearance Milodon says to put it at? It’s for a 408.

I went to install this pan last night and the back corners hang up with the one piece felpro gasket. Should I get the LA style 4 piece gasket or am I missing something? I had a Morosso pan on before,same felpro gasket with no problems. Any help is appreciated.

This is the best info I've had since I started this build. Fabo is the best. Since I went waaaay over budget , will my 6300lbs. truck run 10's. Just kidding 12's, lmfao.

I understand but if I smoke a flywheel and clutch and replace them, I've never rebalanced the assembly, but that has been on external balance motors, what gives?

Thanks rumblefish, the assembly I have has been internally balanced just not with the damper and flywheel. If I use a neutral damper and fly wheel will I still need to have a machinist go over it again? I've put 318,000 miles on the external balanced 360, I'm sure this 408 has to be better than...

Lol, the kick down and drive line are both disconnected for towing, or is that the only problem, might not be anything wrong with the tranny, focused on the motor and was just gonna pull the tranny, now I might just hook everything up an cross my fingers.
