Just something to think about... If you get studs in and they seem good but the next time you attempt to remove the nuts they spin.... hell of a time removing the wheel!

Someone needs to start re-casting 340 blocks

IIRC small block Ford Cleveland had smaller mains and was seen as the performance alternative to the Windsor larger mains. something about friction????

Someone needs to start re-casting 340 blocks

There is a company that is 3D printing molds for sand casting. Brings the price down significantly BUT not enough!

Also were the spinning studs on the left side of the car? People have been known to snap the LH lug studs on the left side of the car if it was still equipped with them.

8 3/4 spitting gear oil out of breather vent

IMHO the only way to overfill would be if the drivers side tire was on the ground and the pass side was raised. Then oil would fill the housing tube before coming out the filler plug hole. @metalbender58 any chance you filled it with the housing at an angle?

8 3/4 spitting gear oil out of breather vent

The tube sticks down into the housing a bit MAYBE oil is spinning from the axle and hitting the threaded tube and wicking up? If the drain was sticking it would build pressure in the housing and maybe erupt??? (but it would also tend to push past the inner seal too???) I'm reaching for...

8 3/4 spitting gear oil out of breather vent

The cap top should be able to move. Did you use sealer if any type on the breather when you installed it?

8 3/4 spitting gear oil out of breather vent

Iirc the breathers have a valve in them, your replacement may not. What grade oil did you use?

Abody Steering column lock-out tube slides up and down?

Lock out tube is a new one for me. What you are describing is the column shift tube. It, like the steering shaft has a inner and outer part that can slide past each other in an accident. If the inner and outer tubes are sliding past each other easily, then the nylon that is supposed to...

Whish pieces are you missing? On 67 Dart GT the trim stops with the green piece. I have seen some years that have a piece where the yellow is as well. If it stops with the green. Pm me. I don't have the piece but I'm making the same piece for 67 Dart and maybe it fits?. I can send you a...

Wiper Pivot R&R and Zerk Install

I finally got around to pulling the wiper pivots on my 67 Dart Convertible. I have a water leak in the general area so I figured I would start with the pivots. I learned everything not to do on the driver's side (and the least accessible) The pass side was a piece of cake. I did not take any...

What to use when drying off car after wash?

What is the quality of your paint. If it's new do as suggested above. If it's old, faded, etc. just get cheap microfiber and go for it.

    Suspect Firewall connection block.

I'm surprised you saw a voltage drop after the ballast resister. Disconnect the coil and test again. The ballast will show a voltage drop with a load. Also other places will show a voltage drop with a load. 2.5v is a lot I would suspect the connector on the ignition switch. The terminal...

Timing Chain Cover crankshaft opening is the wrong size

It can be seen, but if you have PS I doubt it. This is how I know the 67 damper mark does not line up with the 70 up cover. I have a 67 with a 70 up cover, and the 67 timing mark

    There is a left and right. The last digit of the part number dictates In terms of strength... 888 - 889 = /6 890 - 891 = SD V8 892 - 893 = HD V8 894 - 895 = BB V8

Timing Chain Cover crankshaft opening is the wrong size

The timing cover is water pump independent. If your setup is working leave it. I would check that TDC is TDC on the damper.

    Vin trouble

It does change. If the pinion is rotated clock wise the right tire rotated counter clockwise as viewed from the left side of the car. If you turn the axle upside down the right wheel is now on the left side BUT the rotation is still the sameas before. Therefore it will be rotating clockwise as...

Like the 67 GT, it was a trim package, you could have a /6 and GT.

Timing Chain Cover crankshaft opening is the wrong size

There are at least 3 timing covers. 67(maybe 64) to 68 no timing marks on the cover. Seal installs from the inside (Uses a bolt on timing mark on the pass side) 69 one year only. Timing marker is part cover BUT on the pass side (red) Seal installs from the inside (green) smaller external...
