My transmission seems to be slipping...torque converter??

Ok here is the situation. I have a 1964 dodge dart gt. I recently had the slant 6 bored .040 over installed new pistons. Also had the head done with new valves, springs and had the valve seats hardened. Otherwise the engine is stock to my knowledge. I also changed out the 13" stock wheels for...

A904 front planetary and washer question

First off its a 1964 dodge dart pushbutton. I have an aluminium 3 pinion front planet and a 4 pinion rear. The washer that sits on the hub of the front has been bouncing around beating up the hub and inside of the washer. I cannot find a replacement so far. I have seen there are 4 pinion planets...

    Front planetary and washer needed...

A904 out of my 64 dart gt. The washer is grooved from the snap ring. Also the inside of the washer and where it sits on the planetary are beat up. Anyone know where to find these parts and what causes this to happen. As far as I can tell everything else looks good.

My rusty cowl repair so far...

I've seen how this is usually done by removing the windshield and front fenders. Then drilling out 150 or so spot welds separating the upper and lower halves. What a pain in the *** that must be. I decided to try something else that so far seems to be working out. I made some cuts on the upper...

    Anybody got a harmonic balancer for a '64 225?

I've been through hell getting this car back on the road. Rebuilt the engine, replaced the torque converter twice, dealt with kinked and broken tranny cooler lines and now the balancer decides to fail. Oh well at least I know there isn't much else to go wrong. I'm a little strapped for cash and...

    Extreme budget rebuild

I recently pulled the motor and tranny out of my 64 dart because of a knocking noise. Before doing that I ruled out every other possibility including the flex plate bolts. Turned out the engine wasn't the problem. The torque converter shaft is cracked. Anyone know if it can be repaired? Or where...

    Many thanks to RustyRatRod!!!!

While doing a rebuild on my Carter BBS single barrel carb the metering jet snapped off at the threads. I searched all over the internet for a replacement without any luck. I thought I'd have to spend a bunch of money on a reman carb. I decided to post a request here and RustyRatRod responded. He...

    My 64 dart gt

I bought this last summer for $1,200. I used to own a 71 with a six and regret selling it. Decided I wanted a project and found this one. I love driving this car. I wondered why I couldn't find any 64's with the same hood trim. Found out the hood is from a 63 while looking for a replacement...
