    Mini tub / spring relocation / perches help

    A good trick to ensure your boxes are in line with each other and the stock location is get a piece of threaded rod and nuts that are the same diameter as the spring perch mounting holes. Line them up with the rod, snug the nuts, check measurements then tack it in. Then recheck your measurements...

    I sell 66-70 B body rears to Duster/Demon owners, just weld new perches on and it's almost perfect for most wheels. '65 B body rear is actually better as it's a little narrower, but harder to find.

    Your best bet is to buy a K member and suspension from a later car to rebuild and swap in, you may even find one with sway bar mounts. Personally I would look for the '73+ setup.

    I ran a 9 x 28 tire on the street 25 years ago and it hooked great with a 11 second 440 in an A-body. I know tires have vastly improved since then, NO need for full tubs anymore unless you're a very serious player. In fact I beat several fully tubbed cars off the line LOL.

    If you tub it, you better run 7s in the 1/4 mile or you'll get endless ridicule. IMO run the 10.5s....plenty of very fast cars with that much tire and less.

    Hah...I've got Super Tricks for my '67 coupe, only in 10 and 3.5. Doing the mini tub thing with 470" B stroker. Car has no rust on the body but a broken back window and soggy carpet ruined the floors.

    '67-'69 Barracuda has a 108 inch wheelbase '67-'76 Dart Hardtop has a 111 inch wheelbase, basically a 3 inch stretch rearward compared to the Barracuda. Both cars perform exactly the same at the dragstrip. Move the rear back.
