    Need front suspension guidance

Great advice has already been given. One more thing, after you're done you'll need a front end alignment immediately.

    Power steeing issues, please help!

The valve adjustment will cause the wheel to turn on its own. To adjust it, put the front end on jackstands. Then loosen the bolts just a little. Tap the valve slightly to get the wheel to hold steady in the center, then tighten. Definitely keep hands and arms away from the steering wheel...

    Power steeing issues, please help!

Almost sounds like a blockage in the high pressure side What prompted you to change out the valve? Where did you get your system? Is it a new gear and a new pump?

    Rebuilding front and rear suspension

What car are you working on? I did all four of your planned items to my 66 Barracuda. And...rebuilt the steering coupler. Made a heck of a difference. I bought the front end kit from PST (they are a sponsor here and give a discount) as well as their 1.03 torsion bars. ESPO springs for...

    Low ratio steering boxes

Here's a pic of a 66 Barracuda coupler. I "think" my rebuild kit came from DMT (Detroit Muscle Technologies).

    Low ratio steering boxes

Yeah, I just grabbed a picture from the web. Mine is coveted up by the Doug's headers. Let me see if I can find one during my rebuild.

    Low ratio steering boxes

The steering coupler is another area to inspect. Made a big difference in mine. But it sounds like your gearbox could be worn. I sent mine to Steer and Gear in Ohio for a rebuild to Sport feel. If I had it to do over, I would have gone with modern feel for a slightly less "stiff" feel...

    71 Scamp Dangerous To Drive

Looks like it's in good shape. It should be relatively tight when you grab it.

    71 Scamp Dangerous To Drive

All really good suggestions above. A poor alignment will do what you described. Check your steering coupler. It connects the steering column to the steering gearbox. Here's a picture.

    Steering box sector shaft adjustment

As Del says, " better to have it two skoses too loose than one skose too tight!!". It it's too tight it won't return to center on its own. It will stay where it's tracking until you manually move it.

    Steering gear break in period?

When working correctly you should be able to raise the front wheels off the ground, start the car and the steering wheel should not move. Until it's fix be careful not to have a finger or arm in the steering wheel!! Hopefully Peter will chime in, I'm sure he's seen that box before.

    Steering gear break in period?

Your box does look like the YearOne box. That's a design I've never seen before. I wonder if Peter @BergmanAutoCraft is familiar with them?

    Steering gear break in period?

Just what @Darter6 said. You only move the valve body thousands of an inch while adjusting. There's a thread on here somewhere, I'll see if I can find it. Also like said above, it only takes 5 minutes to do... Not difficult at all.

Size of power steering drain plug

You can buy seal kits for them. I bought one for my small TRW pump. I "think" I ordered it on Oreilly.com for delivery to the store. Rock auto may also have them, or summit.

    Steering box adjustment

Cool video! Thanks for posting. Learn something new every day! Challenge is getting in there without burning your hands and arms while the engine is running.

    Steering box adjustment

Yes, all the adjustment from that one slotted screw. Remember: 2 skoshes too loose is better than 1 skosh too tight. If it's too tight it will track only where it is pointed and not move until you move the steering wheel.

How hard is a power steering gearbox rebuild? 73 dart

That's a GREAT video. Sure wish I would have found that before sending my unit to Steer and Gear (and paying $330!!). Before sending it to Steer and Gear I replaced the pinion shaft seal with the gear box in the car. Also replaced the input shaft seal while it was installed. Had to go...
