looking to set a fair price

I think the more important question is, what is the reason for the stall in motivation? Is it money? Is it time or time or space? Is it someone else's influence? Is it that you didn't really want to do it in the first place? No need to answer, that's personal, but things to ask yourself. If it's...

My opinion, now that you have the car, start a build thread before you post up any other questions or progress. Start it with pics of the car and your plan. If you do start a build thread, please post a link to it in this thread so I don't miss it. I'd like to watch this one and would probably...

Yeah, looks great! You can fix those few little details real easy. It's a great looking car.

Sounds like you did ok. What was the asking price again, was it $4500? I can't even remember what this was now... a Duster? Can't wait to see the pics.

No, it's just a buyer beware situation. I agree with Rani -- approach this one with skepticism to avoid getting burned. But, if it DOES check out and it's a solid car, and you don't mind the customizations (I personally don't like them, but I've seen a lot worse, too), then it could be an okay...

    FYI on flashlight apps Warning!

Speaking of GPS, another handy use I've found for my tablet (could be same for a smart phone, so long as it has GPS capability) is using it as a GPS speedometer! I've found the ones I use to be very accurate (watched at same time as in my truck), so when one of the old cars' speedometers isn't...

    FYI on flashlight apps Warning!

For me, it's not only the size of the smart phones, it's the functionality. So much more can be displayed on the 7" tablet screen than on my wife's little iPhone screen. I can't even use that thing after getting used to my 7" tablet. Some of the larger phone screens might be better.

Ebola news to ease your mind

All the incompetence scares me WAY more than the ebola does. Stupid is forever.

The disagreement wasn't about functionality, it was only about cost. Sounds like we're on the same page now. No one here got butthurt unless yours is acheing.

    FYI on flashlight apps Warning!

It definitely makes life simpler/better. My non-subscription tablet serves the same exact purposes for me, and in my case, cheaper. Its amazing what you don't want to live without after living with mobile technology. On the original topic, I use an android tablet and love it, but I'm smart...

Right exactly, that was my original point too. Anyone who thinks a smart phone is the cheapest option is uninformed.

    FYI on flashlight apps Warning!

Yeah, smart phones are great, I love them, I'm not at all tech averse... To the contrary, actually. But to say that everyone that does not have a smart phone is crazy... Well, that's crazy. Everyone has different needs or different ways of meeting those needs, and a smart phone is absolutely not...

    FYI on flashlight apps Warning!

Really? Mine cost $5 new for the phone (and that's with some minutes, so really, less than free) and about $60 total for the entire YEAR of service (and I always have tons of minutes left over, it's the days I run out of)... how is that more than a smart phone? I also have a 7" Android tablet...

    Dukes fans?

I forgot about the movies. The big one with Jessica Simpson was good. I have all of them, including the other 4 or 5 on DVD too, but haven't ever watched them. I even bought the version of Collier & Co. signed by John Schneider. I wouldn't mind meeting him, Tom and Catherine. I just checked...

    Dukes fans?

DoH was probably one of the very first real shows I liked... I would have been almost 7 when it started. I probably saw every episode when it first aired. I remember being crushed and disappointed at the start of the Coy & Vance season (but I watched anyway). I still have my General Lee model...

Buying my first/ last house. (restoring it to time capsule)

Beautiful house and plan! Your first post looks like something I could have written 5 years ago about our 1964 ranch. For the most part, ours was unadulterated too, except the kitchen and the flooring in 2 other small rooms, so we tastefully did what my wife wanted with that, and left the rest...

    MP3-ITune-MP3

East Troy Wi wrecking yard closing

Reminds me of the Valiant in the movie Duel. I'm not going out there today. Too much to do around here, including doing my wife's front brakes right now... more important. I might call later to see how much the Valiant is, but by ALL means if someone else gets to it before me, go for it...

    Road kill videos

I've been watching the RoadKill episodes for awhile now. Somehow I'd missed that one, thanks. This reminds me exactly of the attitude we had in the early 90s when these were basically just old cars, without much value, which was great since we had hardly any money, and our only goal was to have...

Yikes... they're probably crushing the cars I'm looking for... 1980-1983. I'll probably head out there early Saturday AM. Thanks for the tips. I'd love to save that Valiant. It doesn't look all that bad. But, something tells me they're not letting stuff go for "just over scrap price".

Thanks for the info. I was thinking about going there this Saturday morning. I might still if I have time, just for fun. I'm mostly looking for M & J body parts at this point though. I'm interesting in their pricing. If I knew they were super cheap, I'd go in there and buy everything useful I...

Do think three "unrestored" A-Bodies are worth $175K?

:glasses7: I figured there was a misunderstanding there and you must have meant something like that. Taking a GTS and putting a 426 into it, but leaving all the extra GTS trim makes perfect sense if that's what you want. All I meant was why would you buy a $xx,*** GTS only to strip it down to...

Do think three "unrestored" A-Bodies are worth $175K?

Why would you use a GTS to make a Hemi Dart clone? It would be the worst starting point with all the extra trim and options. Not to mention ruining a factory hipo car. You should be looking for as stripped of a slant or 318 car as you can find, and its easy to find them cheap.
