best thing to do sometimes is to walk away from it for a while. and remember to tackle things in one's. A single thing at at time and take your time. ! Best advise i have ever gotten.

1 gallon Jug of rotella TP = 13.00$ for me.

Rotella TP 15w40 on mine. i put this stuff on my 1973 little Honda CB motorcycle difference is night and day... to the regular stuff.

YUP- COVER up the gas lines or re-run them... and i see what looks like a 1/2 aluminum carburetor base plate? maybe get a Phenolic or plastic base plate...

It's always good to update old posts everyone has same issues everywhere everyday. Good for noobs like me.

I had the same issue, because I had replaced the base and gaskets of the carburetor/intake with thicker versions so because it was taller the throttle cable was throwing the idle off. Stupid mistake that I overlooked. Thank guys for the clear insight always turns out to be some thing small...
