The thermostatic switch would be similar to the item directly above the choke in the first pic. 12V switched power to it. (Many guys jumper off the wiper power for electric chokes)

Dropping the k-frame and taking it out the bottom is really easy. Makes for a very easy install as well.

I dig my slant. Great engine and great conversation piece. It is currently in my Barracuda which will end up with a 340 4-speed and 3.91s (wanted one since I was 15). But the slant with an OD 4-speed will find a new home, probably an older half ton pick up..

I second the advice to find a running used engine. You can usually find then listed between $100 and $300 (usually less).

That looks right. The pcv system is supposed to draw filtered air from the air cleaner into the cranckcase then out through the pcv valve into the intake to be burned. If the system does not function at 100%, some oil/fumes into the air cleaner will result. I wouldn't worry too much about it...

Done correctly, that group of mods, along with the rear end gears could make a night & day difference. Still wont set the world on fire, but it will definately be a lot more fun to drive.

Thanks. Don't wanna deal with too much of a hassle.. As for dropping and installing from the bottom, that's how I took out the guts from the donor (after checking out your build and several others). By far the easiest removal ever.

That is exactly the situation. I was hoping it was just a matter of different engine mounts. The /6 car is a 69 barracuda, donor is a 73 Swinger. I already swapped the brakes, upper and lower arms, booster and master... Swinger has power steering also. Wanted to redo it a piece at a time...

Are you saying with the right mounts and brackets it will work?

I've got a k-frame (spool) from a 73 318 Swinger. If I buy standard engine mounts for a 73 Swinger with a /6, will my slant bolt in? I guess the question is, "Was there a difference in the /6 and V8 K-frame in 73?"

Carbsonly.com has an electric conversion for about 55 bucks plus 10 shipping. Pretty decent deal.
