BELT SLAP!!! Anyone else with this problem?

ABODYBOMBER~ Looks like I did...swapped out the pump. no real issues. still need to bleed it completely I think... a little stiff. Hoping more driving will loosen it out. I'm think the first pump was bad from the get go. (Rebuilt by NAPA) I noticed the flow control valve was on the opposite...

    Will this pulley fit?

It fit perfect. Pressed on. Do I even need to put a bolt in it? I guess i could just to keep grime out... still getting the air out of the system so it's a little stiff more driving should help it i think.

    Will this pulley fit?

No one knows? hmmm...well...I guess i'll pull the pulley off...and try my luck. Mahalo!

    Will this pulley fit?

Aloha! I have a original (Right) style Federal pump that has the press on pulley. Can I use that pulley on the new rebuilt pump that has the threaded (left) type shaft? The shaft appears the same diameter. Do I just need to get a bolt and washer and install? see photo... Mahalo...

BELT SLAP!!! Anyone else with this problem?

Mahalo 67! You may be on to something with the harmonic. All the pulleys are clean no nicks or bends. One thing I didn't mention is i can see the pulley on the pump actually move in and out when the RPM's increase. like the pump is physically moving back and forth (front to back) but not the...

BELT SLAP!!! Anyone else with this problem?

Aloha! 1966 barracuda 273 with a federal power steering pump. The belt at higher RPM slaps the fan pulley. Leaving a nice wear mark on my newly painted pulley!!!!! GREAT! blaaaaa. :wack: The belt is tight...as a matter of fact I even went and got a smaller belt to see if I could reduce the...

    $&¥£#% Steering gear NUT stripped!

Mahalo all. I'm hoping it will repair itself. I've had it up on jack stands in the garage for two days now...just to help along the Menehunes. So far no luck...I think I may be able to get the gear out without the K frame drop. But I know I'll need to pull the starter, push up the motor mount...

    $&¥£#% Steering gear NUT stripped!

Duct tape!!! Fml!!! 70aarcuda~ I thought of that.. But how in the hell do I get to the nut? The k frame would need to be cut and then re-welded I guess.
  22. Dfnsmn34

    $&¥£#% Steering gear NUT stripped!

On the K frame the nut doesn't go all the way through. If I had to cut a hole it would have to be in the k frame lower. It has an angled portion on top that allows the welded nut to sit. To get to that nut... I think you'ed have to cut the frame.... DAMN!!' Thank you for all your ideas. Keep...

Figured! I wish I could post more pictures...(I've got a ton) but I promised the photographer I wouldn't. The model was great...it was weird seeing her climb all over the car though....

    How to remove?

Aloha all! I got it installed. Old neighbor works for a dealership and pressed it right out. He was done in 5 minutes! Yes! And that is the Doug's headers installed (Well sitting there waiting for the engine) it had enough wiggle room to slide into place without removing the TB.

    How to remove?

Wjajr~ mahalo! I did paint the engine bay. Everything in the engine bay has been or is going to be gone thru. Rewrapped the electrical, added relays for headlight relays. Engine is sitting on the side waiting for new brake lines. Tranny will be done this week and so will the power steering pump.
