Just says E. Hasn't moved in a week

So either my sending unit died, my gauge died or the wiring between the two died. What's the proper trouble shoot procedure to figure out if I'm sopping the tank or wiring up an after market gauge into my existing gauge pod? 72 dart swinger 340/727 combo.

Well strangely it is now starting if I just blip the ignition to start. Not holding it to crank, just a flick of the wrist....

Would rigging the starter like a drag car with a toggle switch work?

Well it started BUT when cranking the coil isn't getting power. I have to catch it just right between start and run and then it kicks over....

Still won't start

And it would be the pins in the far left and upper right positions....

The blue wire at the firewall block was loose.

Coil is getting power... Still no start....

Ok on a 72 electronic ignition 5 wire/ dual ballast. If you check the volt reading on pins 1 and 3 of the pig tail using the top of the pentastar as 1 and going clockwise? I'm only getting 7 volts and the battery is good. (I'm not getting any power to my coil)

Ok on the wife's dart we have what seems to be a dead spot when starting. The engine doesn't want to catch when the key is at the start position but as soon as you back it off it feels like it wants to catch. Just tried two ignition switches and it's not that. Also, brand new battery, starter...

Had a grounded wire on the right hand turn signal harness. But the signal switch due to age died since we thought it was up there..... So installing a new switch when it ships in.

Ok, let's hope cus they worked a while back then we replaced the signal can so lets just hope it's in the column behind the wheel. I'm glad you had a similar issue it helped trouble shooting...... Time to pull the steering wheel again.

But would that really affect the brake lights as well?

Update, Father inlaw was wrong sadly.... Brake lights don't work and only the cabin part of the hazard relay is working per se. It's drawing amps and clicking but that's it. Any ideas....

The car is pretty bone stock...... Just a re-dyed interior.
