    What is my seal called?

Thanks for all the help guys. I think it is fixed. I did what was told here. The hardest part was getting the old seal out. I left it on jack stands, with the rear end "high" in the air, and left it run in drive for about 10 minutes. No leaking now. Unless it does it after driving? It used to...

    What is my seal called?

Thanks. I am grabbing a electric heavy duty impact to get it off. my buddy has a dewalt that he swears will work. I am going to line it back up the way it came off. I don't have a wrench that goes that high on the torque table. I marked the nut/yoke/pinion. And counted the threads. I am going to...

Outstanding! Thank you. I measured it, but was second guessing myself, since it is hard to measure inside the yoke. I appreciate you doing that for me!

    What is my seal called?

Of I gotcha. I will check Napa today. I have pipe dope. If that made sense. But I will check the parts store. Just put it on the splines? Yeah, its hard to measure. I came up with 1 1/4. Hard to get the ruler inside the yoke area. I have to buy a socket when I am out today.

Wow that kids was right. Thanks for checking for me. I just watched a video on you tube..."different vehicle", and he was using white out to line everything up and counting threads. I am gonna find out the torque and do it right. I just need to make sure there is nothing else that needs...

My 7 1/4 Sure grip is leaking. Its the seal where the yolk slides in. The part the drives shaft bolts to. I called Advance, and told him a yolk seal. I don't know the real name. I always called them YOLK! He said it is a differential pinion seal? Is that right? Wanted to make sure.

Okay, I finally got around to doing my rear end. I pulled the cover, and only a half of qt. came out. I may have to change my seal, and /or sleeve the yoke come spring. I used lsd additive, and also good rear end oil. It only held one qt.? Anyhow. Here's a photo. The wheels turn the same way, so...

Well I did appreciate it very much! It does well on the highway. But out of the hole, well ya know...LOL I am glad it at least has the 145hp version, it helps. Thanks so much! I appreciate the effort. I also bookmarked that site. I should have mentioned. The tag on it says 2:76 on the cover. This car has 68k on it, and nothing has been touched. It sat for 15 years, and before that, was not ever altered at all. I will take some nice photos to put on...

    How many quarts?

It was in the air already. So I went up and threw it in Neutral. I spun the drivers side, and the passenger side wheel spun the same direction. I guess I need a tube of LSD. I seen advance had a tube of Lucas LSD additive. Is that okay? Also, I will take some photos Saturday while I have it...
