    1972 340 testing by Nick

I was surprised that the air cleaner didn't make much of a difference in the power rating.

Grinding, " diesel " noise under valve covers

Could piston skirt coatings help quiet the OP's piston slap down, if that what it is? I know it won't eliminate it but it could make it more livable.

Grinding, " diesel " noise under valve covers

My 340 has similar noise when its cold but not as loud as yours and it goes away when it's up to temperature. It has the Keith Black Hyper pistons in it and I let it get good and hot before I beat on it.

List of Best Street Performance Camshafts for "340-360"

I'm using a Lunati VooDoo 702 cam in a 340 based 372ci engine. 220-226 degrees at .050 and I have Magnum heads with the 1.6 ratio rocker arms for a little lift bump. Edelbrock Air Gap intake and a 650 Eddy carb stock exhaust manifolds. The 904 trans has a TransGo kit in it and a low gear set...

    67 Barracuda - ebay - Florida

The selling reserve is 21k and that might be a tough sell. The pictures are lousy and you cant see the fine detail but it might be worth around the 15k range. My guess.

More and more disgusted with local used pickup prices...and choice

The biggest reasons trucks are hot sellers right now is the low fuel cost and the loan duration. Go back to 36 month loans and see how many they sell.

Poll - How far away from home do you drive your classic?

Your cruising rpm is not to bad. At 70 mine would be almost 4k. Not fun on a 6 hour trip to the bridge. My converter slips at about 9% so the cruise rpm is high. I would really love to have an OD trans in my car, but I'm not gonna cut my car up to fit one under it.

Poll - How far away from home do you drive your classic?

Yea, I'll have to see what the temps are on the trans and go from there. I never drove it on the expressway very far so I never worried about the trans.

Poll - How far away from home do you drive your classic?

Sounds fun Dick. My car has the 3:55 gear in it and it's at 3k at 60. The converter is a little loose and I worry that the trans will overheat. I don't have a trans cooler on it but I should get one.

Poll - How far away from home do you drive your classic?

HA! Thanks Dick for agreeing with me! Always wanted to go there but it makes me nervous to drive on I-94 at 60 mph.

Need feedback from Mopar dealer service techs on Fiat era Chargers

What the hell kind of car can you buy that doesn't have issues of some kind? There built to fail! I'm really sick of owning cars and trucks. Am I Nuts?

I actually bought a 07 RT last week. Its on cargurus site and I bought it over the phone with a refundable deposit. Drove to Cleveland to pick it up and the car is beautiful and the interior is mint. With it just turning 40k it should be. Took it for a test drive and all is good and the 5.7...
