Thanks Kim. I bought the green bearings with the spool from Cass at Dr. Diff.

I am using the same 3.91 gears. My big question is, what parts get reused and which are no longer needed? Once the bearings are pressed on the spool, they then get bolted under the main caps? Is that correct? Also, the outer adjusters still are used to set backlash? Thanks for the feedback

Found this in the search feature, hope it helps :) A 108 wb with 904 & 7 1/4 to 8 1/4 swap the difference between 7.25 and 8.25 housings is 1.25 so what ever your original drive shaft measures minus 1.25. Here is some other tech I've found from here: 108"wb with 440/727/8 3/4=46.5 904/8...

Hey Fabo, I'm in need of your help once again. I was under my 72 Dart last night, installing my cheetah shifter. As I was running the shift cable, I noticed the mounting tab where the cable is supposed to go, looks to have been removed. What options do I have for fixing the tab or mounting...

Number one, take your time! I put the tranny on my 1.5 ton jack and used an engine hoist to lower the engine in. Once the engine mounts made contact, I used the jack on the tranny to get them aligned. It really was easy to get things lined up. Having the hood off will make life so much easier. I...

I'm getting ready to install a 904 transmission in my 72 dart. I just converted the steering column over to a floor shift column. What steps do I need to take to mount a cheetah shifter to my floor? Does the carpet have to be pulled up or am I cutting through it? Where should the shifter get...

Well it seems that the rear end was rebuilt at some point (owner not sure when) richmond 4.10 gears were added by owner a few years back. Stock axles and brakes. I offered the owner 800.00. Thanks for the help everyone!!

I have a chance to purchase a complete ready to bolt in 8 3/4 rear end with a 489 case suregrip with 4.10 gears. Is $1200.00 a good price or too much? I've never had to purchase one, so I'd like some feedback before I do. Thanks in advance:)
