how to make the /6 a powerhouse

Depends on how far you want to go...A 2-barrel super six is an easy and very worthwhile switch. I have a 390 cfm holley 4-barrel on mine and love it, but then again I bracket race my Dart a lot and the engine has had plenty of work done to it. A super six 2 barrel should be easy to acquire and...

how to make the /6 a powerhouse

I will agree that Clifford's prices are a little high, but I've been running their split headers, 4-BBL intake, shot peened rods, and double roller timing chain with great success (on and off the track) for 6 years....Over 900+ passes with most of that equipment. Having said that, upgrading to a...

found super six, worth picking up?

With my old/tired slant (1-BBL), the Dart ran 20s With the 2-BBL super six and headers it ran mid 18s. With the new engine (4-BBL, mild cam, forged pistons, shift kit, headers, etc) it runs low-mid 17s. Mind you these numbers are all with 2.76 gears and shifting at 5 grand. I add a 3.23...

found super six, worth picking up?

It's a fairly inexpensive/easy mod that helps out the slant 6 quite a bit. After adding the 2-BBL super six and some headers, my Dart ran a second and a half faster at the strip.

    how much is it worth?

My thoughts exactly, except that it makes things way cheaper and easier for those of us who like to run them ;) A great engine with little maintenance needed that should last many many years. Everybody I talk to about my Dart will mention the slant and how it's so bulletproof...But then promptly...

    how much is it worth?

If it's all in decent running order, a hundred bucks would be my guess if you're lucky...Just don't bank on getting rich.lol People can't giveaway slants these days, let alone sell them. The trans, driveline, and rear end (while not highly sought after with the 7 1/4") might be worth something...

    /6 with headers???

I've been using Clifford's /6 headers for 5 years now...2 years with the super six, and now on my rebuilt 225 w/a 390 Holley 4-BBL. No trouble whatsoever...I love the look, sound...Everything...It really wakes these slants up...Especially on the strip! Ran some 18s with the tired slant and the...

    Flowmaster on a /6?

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MYswqzoRm3E Spoke too soon...Hear is one of my 17-second blasts down the quarter mile. This was a semi-final round at the car club challenge at Pacific Raceways (representing team Mopar). Not my best moment as I was on the brakes way too late. Edit: Just a taste...

    Flowmaster on a /6?

My car is 200 miles away in hibernation or I would have done that for you. I have dual flowmasters on my 225 f-BBL/clifford headers and it sounds good!

Show your slant 6 a body!

Thank you, it's been fun so far. I plan on doing the body work myself (which means I have some research ahead of me). Just a little bit of rust on the driver's side quarter panel. Nothing a patch panel shouldn't be able to fix. My one big concern is the vinyl top. The Dart has been in Washington...

Show your slant 6 a body!

Here is my 1970 Dodge Dart Swinger 225" 3 speed torqeflite that I have had since I was 15 1/2 (I'm 20 now). 85,000 miles with at least 600 quarter mile passes (many wins and 1 track championship). I built up the new six as my Senior project in High School. .030 over, Ross custom forged racing...
