Yep, to anyone that isn’t used to the heat, be careful out there. Work early or late, try to utilize the shade if you can. Shoot, i did it this weekend too. Was tearing down a shed and really wanted to finish. Got alot done early, took the lunch break but finished up with the sun blasting me...

    Small Block Head Flow Chart

saw those a while back. Almost def they are speedmaster castings. Would like to see the flow numbers with no porting or bowl blend. Seems to really make his prepped RHS heads seem like a good deal.

    Small Block Head Flow Chart

sounds like you are talking about the "Indy-X" heads or the LA-X and MA-X heads. i don't think they are available now, or have been for years... http://indyheads.com/images/maxlaxnewproductlinK.pdf

    Supply issues woes

Got some scat i beam rods in 3 days, arrived today. lunati cam in 2 days. timing chain and rocker arms in 3 days from mancini. I just find stuff that’s in stock. Ordered some mahle pistons that seemed to be on backorder but i wanted the lower price so i am taking a gamble on that one. Luckily...

That's the RHS casting from New Zealand, not being made at the moment..

Cheapest heads 360 magnum flowing around 250 cfm

That's correct, the good EQ casting was cast in New Zealand and they aren't made anymore. You would have to luck into a used or NOS set at this point. Same with the RHS Indy-X heads.

    Head ****

yep, you called that one. here is a nice pic of the gasket though... SCE Gaskets 169112 SCE AccuSeal E Intake Gaskets | Summit Racing

    Head ****

it does seem very large, the width seems impossible yes. Maybe it’s a typo and should be 1.25 or 1.45 ?? The image for the gasket does look like it’s significantly larger than stock though. So it might be worth a try for these heads.

    Head ****

@ou812 mentioned in another thread that they had SCE make them some intake gaskets, they are in the catalog too. might give those a shot. looking in the catalog i'd guess it's the 169112 or 269112, 2.25"x2.40" port dimension.

    Rocker Arm help

i was looking at getting bare castings and putting some Ferrea valves and beehive springs in them. Fresh valve job etc. with the prices of the machine work here it was adding up to about $1400 for a set of heads if I got the bare castings during the black friday sale. no geometry correction kit...

    Rocker Arm help

lot of variables at play, Harland Sharp has a rocker arm specifically for the Edelbrock heads (which the speedmasters should be a copy of). the Mancini rocker fulcrum length falls between the short HS rocker for the Edelbrock heads and a factory rocker arm. So yeah, the mancini rocker arms are a...

    Rocker Arm help

i almost ordered those mancini rockers, but i emailed Harlnd Sharp to ask about fulcrum length. the PRW steel rocker arms are shorter so I gave those a shot instead. The contact patch looks better than above...using RHS heads.

    Big block Valve cover suggestions?

i got some ansen valve covers to put on a small block, they are pretty nice. seem to be basically the same thing as the old mopar performance aluminum covers. i bet you could find them with a google search. i had a machine shop mill the holes for 1.22" id moroso grommets. Mancini had them...

E-street vs Promaxx vs 440 Source

i agree with this tempting to use some factory cast iron heads if they will do the job with quality work, but if you could spend a little more and get 75% of the way towards the really good heads (trick flow), then i think that's a good choice. I'd get Promaxx for the 440...but they haven't been...

E-street vs Promaxx vs 440 Source

i don't think the ootb edelbrock valve job would be IN-adequate...just if someone were to prep a head really nice then there is the possibility of truing up the valve job and deshrouding. also, the E-street heads were very recently only ~$1200. so i guess one advantage with the edelbrock stuff...

E-street vs Promaxx vs 440 Source

That's the head I would run for a 440 like you're building. You need to call them and ask about availability, last they told me was they didn't know an ETA on castings..

E-street vs Promaxx vs 440 Source

You can get E street heads with the 75cc combustion chamber, a stock stroke 383 needs the smaller chamber to get compression up.
  27. C

E-street vs Promaxx vs 440 Source

the promaxx are also out of stock, no idea when they will have castings. if i was building a 383, i'd do the 75cc chamber E-Street head. 440 or stroker, promaxx wanted a stock look, the 440 source heads. i think the promaxx heads would have the nicest valve job.
