    There was never a roller cam from the factory in a big block. You would need an aftermarket roller conversion kit.

    That was a common mod. Take a section out of the bottom of one pan, weld the whole sump from another on- BAM!! A poor mans baffled, deep sump pan.

    Too make it a bit more complicated for you, the 727 comes in both SB and BB. Make sure you get the right one.

    Yes, but keep in mind I said possibly. They mimic the factory center dump manifolds, but their width may be a problem. Don't know for sure if they would fit between the frame rails.

    Just spewing what I had read in engine book. Re-reading it, it was in regards to hydraulic cams. Looking closer, the .528 is mechanical and has less duration than the hydraulic .509 cam. Is that what makes the difference in this case?
