Hmmm....calculator I just used said with a 26" tall tire, 1.00 final drive in trans, 3.73 gears at 70 you will be turning 3374 rpm. Same setup with a .75 final drive in the trans will yield 2531 rpm. To get to that rpm with a taller tire it will take a 35" tall tire....if you plan on putting a...

Simple enough solution^^^^ If you are not going to mini tub it no real reason to narrow the housing. Unless you have a specific rim that you want to run that requires it for the wheels to fit....

yep....there is no doubt there is at least one good trans builder nearby....by the time you go out and buy all the necessary tools to build one yourself you could have had it built. last I spoke with Doug about a cash and carry I believe he said labor was in the $250 range....but it was a while...

Pull the innards of the cable out. If it still in one piece lube it up....have had dry cables do all sorts of weird things....

Keep in mind that unless you drive the car quite a bit it is going to take a very long time to recoup the $$ it takes to make any sort of major changes...especially the one that was mentioned about a Passion 5 gear. How much does he want for the box, 4k or so is what I seem to remember seeing...

dual points were the rave at one time... Yep...."back in the day" pretty much the only way to get a car to hook was to run wide slicks....now-a-days there is several small tire class cars that hook hard....

There is a member here that has used the QT adapter....and had nothing but troubles from it. The QT piece does not need an adapter. The one I mentioned does as it is an SFI 727 bellhousing....the adapter ring is necessary to go from the pump bolt pattern of a Mopar trans to the pump bolt pattern...

Buddy had a set of them....think they actually might have been 6:17's if such an animal ever existed. He had a 10k rpm 283 SBC, car had a stick with a 3:1 first gear and 28" or so slicks. Launch was interesting. Clutch out and back in for second pretty much instantly...it was a quarter mile car....

Buddy has a trans shop in AZ.....he used a few different Hughes convertors over the years and was never happy with them. When I lived in AZ the few times I went to the dragstrip did see several racers with his stickers so he must have a following of sorts....

GForce ,and I believe a few others offer some hop up parts for the t-5's. From what I remember you can get one of there trans for less than half of the "new" 5 speed...

Folks can chest pound all you want about the 727....bottom line is they DO EXPLODE.
