    520ci roller cam issue.

This be the fellow to listen to right here. I do agree with Scott about the gears...last drag car I was involved with had 14wx32's and 4:88's I believe. And he crossed the stripe way higher than what you mentioned.

    Dyno testing a stock(?) 1972 440

Is the above an "iron clad rule"? Or is it just a generalization? Just asking because I am thinking back to a long gone project that when it was in the upper rpm range still had a small amount of vacuum showing on the gauge....and always wondered if the truck would have benefited from a bigger...

    Dyno testing a stock(?) 1972 440

Rob, if you still do the FaceBook thing might want to look up Edward Miller. He just set some records at Dragweek. Granted, they are a very high $ head he used but they also flow like a tunnel, Predators. He made enough power on his big cube/Predator headed wedge to push a Duster into the mid...

    Kieth Black block

A while ago I emailed KB about there aluminum HEMI block. I received an email form them, this particular line has me wondering ""Race Ready". All you need to do is a final wash and start assembling." They made mention several times of the block being machined to my specific specs. I am...

    Just rambling....

The 422 you mention is intriguing. My car is setup for a 4l80e, so I will have an od. And if I don't build something that needs the strength of it I will probably put a 4l60e in it as it is a good deal lighter and as less parasitic (?) drag.....

No reason you can not have reasonable fuel economy. Will never be that of a new ride but with the use of some of today's technology, namely efi and od, if you stay away from the gazillion hp build reasonable mileage should be a possibility. Ricj Nedbal got 14 out of his 725 hp 572" HEMI.....

Interesting...Sort of sounds like what a buddy had in his 442. Was one of the most trouble free "hot rods" I was ever around....Not talking factory heads, but not full cnc prepped either. Perhaps just Edelbrocks with just a bit of clean up, a very mild hydraulic roller etc. SUre it will jack up...

Specifics are a bit fuzzy. Worked in a shop years ago, more or less did just production style rebuilds. Guy came in wanting us to build a clone of a Cheby LS7.....but on a grander scale. I remember we used a tall deck block, a set of Dart Iron heads and a flat tappet hydraulic cam. Was dynoed on...

I find threads like this http://www.forabodiesonly.com/mopar/showthread.php?t=241127 very interesting. And makes me wonder..... I understand that most folks build a stroker for increased performance. I also understand that as the displacement increases you will need more cfm thru the...

    67 dart emissions

I dumped a gallon or so of alcohol (believe it was grain but...) into a few gallons of gas on my one truck, some old geezer suggested it. Leaned it out enough to pass. Was told by one of the employees at the sniffer station that there equipment will pick certain additives up. I thought that the...

Where in AZ are you? Used to live in Mesa, there was a few reasonable shops that would tweak it and see to it that it will get thru. The guy I used was on Main Street, kind of in the middle of Mesa. He was a big time Pontiac nut. Will try to remember his name....

Thinking of going to E85 on the Dart

The one station that is listed is close to 40 miles from home. Last time I was in that neighborhood it looked like they were closed. When I lived in AZ there was only a few stations, that I knew of that sold it, and I lived in a town of 300,000 or so. Be nice if it were more available. Just...

Thinking of going to E85 on the Dart

From what I have read here it is not the ideal solution that it appears to be as the octane rating changes frequently......I do know it takes more volume than gasoline to produce the same power.....
