    440 Roller Cam suggestions

I'm slowly gathering parts for my stock-ish RB440 six pack build, and I'd like to run a stock-ish hydraulic roller cam. I want a smooth idle, and I figure stock 440+6 power is plenty for an A-body. What kind of roller cam specs will compare to the OEM .450/.458 cam? I don't mind if it's a step...

I Chose the 383 Big Block

TBF I'm sure you did. I'm traveling for work and haven't had time to read all the posts. I'm not knocking OP, I just figured I'd go big or go home.

I Chose the 383 Big Block

Nothing personal against your choice, but I never understood the 383 swap. 23 cubes over a 360, with big block weight?

    440 purchase

I'll never forget the first 440 I owned. I had a plastic tray that they ship two liter soda in, and I put the pistons and rod assemblies in it. And the pistons barely fit. That was pretty cool.

    Stealth head install.

I do trust it more after it's been through experienced American hands, but I've also seen Chinesium castings with rocks and bolts in 'em. And I don't like sending my declared enemies money to attack me with.

What brand radiator are you guys using to cool your 440?

Now I just gotta figure out if they're the same parts on my B body 440 as an A body

Help Please! Sagging Front end, can't adjust Ride Height at all.

Double check your T-bar adjusters, too. Chrysler had fine thread and course thread, and they're slightly different lengths. I noticed it when built my car. I have no idea if the donor car had been apart before or if Chrysler built it that way.

Is it possible to build a 440 A-body with the stock fan?

    Stealth head install.

I wish like hell they weren't cast in China. That's a roadblock for me. And I'm STILL thinking about buying a set.

    mmc books

Of course? Of course. Clearly. Punctuation, man. JFC, Punctuation. Is this a statement, a question, a classifieds listing, or do we need to get you to a stroke rehab facility? I feel like I'm watching some kid sit on Santa's lap and ask for a Fraggle Stick Car.

440 6 pack kickdown linkage question

I have a factory-mated 440 and 727 with 4-barrel kickdown linkage. I have a 1975 Plymouth Valiant, and I have a 6-pack setup complete (Sorry, six-barrel). If I want to keep a factory-style kick-down linkage, is there a linkage for the 6 barrel that will work with the A-body chassis? Yes I know...

    Checking out new heads

First question: Does anybody make something similar to the stealth heads, but not Made In China Trash? Second Question: Do we love the Edelbrock small block heads now, or do we still hate them?

cast crank to forged in 440

I'm confused. Should my '73 440 hp have a cast or forged crank? I think it was from a Road Runner. Would a six pack build to basically stock specs with aluminum heads warrant the forged crank? If I cam it up at all, it'll have to have a near stock idle ( as a 440 six pack)

    It fit....

Is there an OEM-ish way to install a blower motor on an RB-equipped A-body?
  24. jos51700

    It fit....

There's no easier way to a faster car than to disconnect the brakes. I see that you've removed the master cylinder entirely, so between that and the big block, your car should be far too fast for anyone to drive enjoyably. Good job!

    Stabbing engine and trans?

Do it from the bottom. It's a way of life. It only involves 8 more fasteners and you are probably replacing the torsion bars any way, right? The money you save in back pain meds will offset the extra work. Pro tip: drill wee holes and spray penetrant on the k frame bolts from the thread side...

    New bb build fuel economy

I had the same thought as the other guy, but I generally give non native English speakers a pass, versus dumbass American youths that don't have an excuse other than poor parents. So far as the build, rule number one build the car as light as possible. That motor needs to be small block light...
